we spent last weekend in d.c. here are a couple of panoramas, one is a war memorial, the other fountains near capitol hill. there are plenty other pics from the weekend but they’ll be added later.

in a rare edition of ’stuff’ rather than ‘pictures’, here are two people holding hands on a bridge. for those interested (nerd alert), the scene was created in houdini and rendered with a simple occlusion shader. the characters are sidefx’s toon autorigs.

apocalyptica at the astoria

apocalyptica: metal on cellos. so crazy it actually works. i’ll upload a couple of my videos soon because without seeing it you can’t fully believe it. the two warm up acts were ok but the audience really looked like it wasn’t up for it. once apocalyptica came out, it turned and the set was excellent. an excellent show with two great encores.
